Kangana Ranaut: Bilkis Bano Script Ready, Faces Challenges with Streaming Platforms

Kangana Ranaut has once again made headlines with her controversial tweets in the past few days. Yesterday, she launched an attack on Ranbir Kapoor starrer “Animal” and hinted at a possible career change in the coming years. It all started when a user praised her latest film, “Tejas,” which recently released on an OTT platform. In response, Kangana expressed her deep discouragement as someone who has dedicated her life to making films about women’s empowerment.

Without explicitly mentioning the film, she further stated that she has been fighting hard, but audiences are encouraging movies that treat women as sexual objects and portray them in degrading ways, such as the controversial “Lick My Shoes” dialogue that garnered massive criticism.

In her latest tweet, Kangana revealed that no OTT platform is supporting her script for “Bilkis Bano.” Recently, the Supreme Court nullified the early release granted by the Gujarat government to the 11 convicts involved in the gang rape of Bilkis Bano and the murder of her family during the 2002 riots.

When a user suggested that Kangana should tell Bilkis Bano’s story through a powerful movie, highlighting the atrocities committed by the state government and a terrorist outfit, Kangana responded by retweeting the message. She expressed her willingness to make the movie, stating that she has already prepared the script, researched extensively for three years. However, she mentioned that platforms like Netflix, Amazon, and others declined the project, citing their guidelines against politically motivated films. JioCinema cited Kangana’s support for the BJP as a reason for not working with her, and Zee is currently undergoing a merger, leaving her with limited options.

Kangana’s tweets reflect her frustration and the challenges she faces in bringing certain stories to the screen. Despite her dedication to women’s empowerment films and her efforts to highlight important issues, she appears to be encountering obstacles in finding platforms willing to support her vision.
