Mukesh Chhabra Reflects on Dil Bechara Star Sushant Singh Rajput, Describing Him as ‘Oversensitive’ and Sharing Insights into His Emotional Struggles

Mukesh Chhabra, the casting director who also helmed the late Sushant Singh Rajput’s final film, Dil Bechara, recently opened up about the bittersweet memories associated with the project. In an interview with Lallantop, Chhabra shared the emotional toll of listening to the film’s songs and spoke about Sushant’s sensitive nature.

“It’s difficult to listen to the songs of Dil Bechara,” Chhabra confessed. “Every song brings back memories of Sushant. We were close, and the film became a constant reminder of him.” He elaborated on Sushant’s vulnerability, stating, “He was easily affected by things around him, even the smallest matters. He was very sensitive.”

Chhabra expressed regret about not being able to help Sushant during his troubled times. “It was during the pandemic,” he revealed. “If I knew what he was going through, I would’ve gone and spoken to him. We met often, from his first film to his last. Our bond was strong.”

Chhabra’s words paint a poignant picture of a talented actor battling unseen demons. The success of Dil Bechara, while a testament to Sushant’s brilliance, undoubtedly adds to the bittersweetness for those who knew him personally.

The interview serves as a reminder of the importance of reaching out and offering support even to those who seem strong on the outside. It also highlights the lasting impact we leave on others, especially through our creative endeavours. Sushant Singh Rajput may be gone, but his talent, vulnerability, and the memories he left behind continue to touch hearts.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s close friend and filmmaker Mukesh Chhabra has opened up about the late actor’s oversensitive nature. In a recent interview, Chhabra revealed that Rajput “would get affected very easily” and “upset with people very easily” if he read negative comments about himself.

“He was an oversensitive person, we all are,” Chhabra added, acknowledging that this quality could be both a blessing and a curse. While it allowed Rajput to deeply connect with his characters and deliver heartfelt performances, it also made him vulnerable to criticism and negativity.
