Bade Miyan Chote Miyan Opening Day Advance Bookings to Be Refunded: Akshay Kumar’s Film Postponed Again, Making Way for Maidaan

In a surprising twist, the release of the highly anticipated film “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff has faced yet another delay. Originally scheduled for release on April 10, the action-packed blockbuster directed by Ali Abbas Zafar was set to clash with Ajay Devgn’s “Maidaan.”

However, both films decided to change their release dates, opting for paid previews on April 10 from 6 PM onwards, followed by a full-fledged release on April 11. But now, “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” has once again pushed back its release and will only hit theaters on Eid, which falls on April 11.

The advance booking for the film’s first day had already begun on April 10, but reports suggest that all the tickets that were booked will be refunded. With the shift in the release date, there is hope that the film will generate more buzz and excitement, which is much needed to boost its momentum at the box office.

This change in the release date has also made room for “Maidaan,” which will now have the advantage of paid previews on April 10 from 6 PM onwards. This early release might give the sports drama a head start and create positive word-of-mouth by the time “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” gears up for its release.

There are reports suggesting that the makers of “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” were unsure if people would venture out to theaters before Eid to watch the film. Hence, they decided to release it on the festive occasion itself, hoping for a better opening number.

It is worth noting that “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” named after the classic film starring Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda, has no connection to the comedy film released during Diwali in 1999, which coincidentally faced a clash with Karan Johar’s “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.”

Popularly known as BMCM, this Ali Abbas Zafar film is being hailed as one of the biggest action films in Hindi Cinema, bringing together two mega-stars from different generations, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. Alongside them, the film also features Alaya F, Sonakshi Sinha, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Maanushi Chhillar, and Ronit Roy, promising a star-studded extravaganza for audiences to enjoy.
