Smriti Irani, a popular Indian politician and former television actress, recently got emotional while talking about the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajpu in an interview with Neelesh Mishra. In a video clip that has been circulating on social media, Smriti Irani can be seen getting choked up as she reminisces about her interactions with Sushant.

According to reports, Smriti Irani had seen Sushant Singh Rajput on the popular television show, “Pavitra Rishta”. In the interview, Smriti Irani can be heard saying, “I wish I had told him, ‘Apne aap ko maar mat dena kabhi’ (never harm yourself).”

The actress-turned-politician went on to say that Sushant’s death had left her heartbroken, and that she had been deeply affected by the tragedy. She also urged people to be kind to each other, and to reach out for help if they were struggling with their mental health. She said she was on VC when the news came out in 2020 June. She then came out of the conference and talked to Amit Sadh who was close to the late actor. 

Sushant Singh Rajput’s death in June 2020 had sent shockwaves throughout the entertainment industry and beyond. The actor had been found dead in his Mumbai apartment, in what was later determined to be a case of suicide.
