Shweta Mehendale is a Marathi actress who has played lead roles in soap operas, and has appeared in few Marathi films. She is known for her roles in Asa Mi Tasa Mi and Tribhanga, which were released on Netflix. – Shweta Mehendale, a young Nayan impresses with her performance in films and television shows. She has worked with actors like Sanjay Narvekar, Tanvi Azmi, Hemangi Kavi, Aditi Saragdhar and Harshali Zine. Her role as the younger Nayan in Asa Mi Tasa Mi was widely appreciated. She delivered a wonderful performance as the lead role in Tribhanga and shared screen space with Kajol and Renuka Shahane. In this interesting love triangle story she played the aged Nayan who is an actor and her role was very well defined with wit.  

Shweta Mehendale Career

Shweta Mehendale is a famous Indian TV actress, who primarily works in Marathi soap dramas and few Marathi films. She started her career with the Marathi serial “Nayak” aired on Zee Marathi in the year 2016 and then she played the lead role of Revati in “17 Shweta” on Alpha Marathi. She was one of the first actors to be cast in the famous serial “Kasturi” and then she made an impactful debut with Majhya Navaryachi Bayko on Alpha Marathi (formerly known as Star Pravah). 

The Netflix movie titled ‘Bombay Rose’ starring her daughter Shweta Mehendale, is based on her biography. It narrates the story of three women whose lives were tormented, and begins with Shweta narrating her story as an admirer who goes on to write her biography. Her feminist writings in womens literature unravels myriad shades of the protagonist Tanvi, played by Shweta Mehendale herself. Apart from playing the writer-protagonist of the movie, she also held the role of a videographer-holder in order to bring out more wit and emotion in each character. Her daughter Shweta played an important part in making sure that each character was given its due importance and that it was portrayed accurately.  

She was the one who suggested casting Renuka Shahane for the role of ‘Malia’, a mother and a wife struggling to keep up with the norms of society. Shweta preferred Renuka because of her difficult reputation and bratty behaviour, which is a hallmark of her heyday in Bollywood. Despite her father’s questioning, she decided to go ahead with Shahane as she believed that only she could bring out the essence of Malia.   

The film was an ode to women who refuse to be restricted by the conventions of Indian society. Along with Renuka Shahane, it starred Kajol, Nayan Apte and Tanvi Azmis. The narrative flowed effortlessly and Shweta Mehendale had done a worthwhile job in bringing out the best in these actors.
