Ranbir Kapoor Speaks Out About Controversial Lipstick Comment Amidst Accusations of Toxicity

A few months ago, Alia Bhatt revealed in an interview that her husband, Ranbir Kapoor, doesn’t like it when she wears lipstick and tells her to “wipe it off.” The comment went viral on social media, with many people calling Ranbir a “toxic” partner.

Now, Ranbir Kapoor has broken his silence on the criticism. In a recent interview with a leading publication, Ranbir said that his comment was taken out of context and that he doesn’t control Alia’s choices.

“I’m not the kind of person who would tell my wife what to wear or what not to wear,” Ranbir said. “Alia is a grown woman, and she’s free to make her own choices. I just happened to mention that I prefer her natural lip color, but that’s just my personal preference. I would never force her to do anything she doesn’t want to do.”

Ranbir also said that he was surprised by the backlash he received for his comment. “I didn’t think anyone would take it so seriously,” he said. “I was just being honest about my own personal preferences. But I understand that people are sensitive about these issues, and I apologize if my comment offended anyone.”

During a recent live fan interaction, Ranbir Kapoor spoke about facing negativity on social media. He said, “Hey, I’m not on social media so I don’t have the need to deal with it, which is a great thing. But I feel negativity is very important, especially if you’re an artist and if you have some work out there. I think both need to exist because it creates a balance.”

Kapoor went on to say that he understands that people will have opinions about him as an actor, and that he takes those opinions with a grain of salt. He also said that he doesn’t feel ownership over the image of himself that has been created by the movies he’s acted in, the characters he’s played, or the media.

Kapoor’s comments about negativity on social media are refreshing to hear. He’s a successful actor with a large following, but he’s also aware that the online world can be a toxic place. By choosing not to be on social media, he’s protecting himself from the negativity that can come with it.
