Balwinder Singh Suri is an actor, director, producer and writer active both in films and TV. He hails from Mumbai and was born and brought up in this place only. He has been working in films and TV for the past two decades. He is fondly called as Ballu by his friends and fans in the film industry. He started his career with films working as assistant director working with director David Dhawan. His debut came with the role called Ballu in Yash Raj Films’ venture Dil To Pagal Hai. He played the said character of SRK’s friend in the film. He also worked in other movies like Saajan Chale Sasural, Kahi pyar na ho jaye and Dhamaal.
Some of his other films include Baadal with Bobby Deol, Vishnuruppam with SRK in“Rab ne bana di Jodi” and Pinjar to name a few. He was praised for his roles and performances. After working in a few films, he also tried his luck in small screen and turned him in. He then seen in TV shows like Mr N Mrs Sharma Allahbadwale in Sab TV, for the show Adi Manav, he worked as a creative writer and producer as well. He directed the show “Sajan Re Jhooth Mat Bolo” and “Rk Laxman Ki Duniya. He produced his film Mini Punjab.
He also worked with digital media seen in the series called Campus and Yeh Duniya hai Rangeen. These were followed by the other shows like Khoj, Zanjeere and Colonel to name a few. He also worked as creative writer for the films like “All The Best”, “Paying Guest”, and “Dhamaal” to name a few. He even directed a few films like “Sajan Re Jhooth Mat Bolo” and “Beach o Beach”. He also gave scripts like Home Sweet Home, Ek Se Bhale Do, “I Love U Two” , “Ek Se Bhale Do”, “Uncle Samjha Karo”, “See no evil 1/ 2 /3”, and “Dil maange more”. Talking about his personal life, he is married. In the recent buzz, he has replaced Gurvinder Singh in the role of Sodhi in the popular Sab TV show called Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma.
