12 Years of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, know the truth behind the song ‘Haule Haule’

It has been 12 years since Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, a superhit film released in 2008. The film released on December 12, was directed by Aditya Chopra. Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ was a bang movie. This romantic film is based on the personalities of a woman and a man who grew up under different circumstances and eventually fell in love with each other after their sudden marriage was arranged. The film’s music album was a chartbuster, produced by top music composer Salim-Sulaiman Merchant.

Regarding the creative vision of the songs of this film, Suleman says, ‘The film was written and thought out very well, clarifying each point with the fixed locations of the songs and the instruction given to the film was very simple. Through music, Raj and Suri (both these characters were played by SRK) had to give them different identities. Suri’s character was of a traditional Husband while Raj was an urban hero. The melody of the music had to be so simple that even the common man could hear it and could feel love and peace on hearing it. It was not an easy task to follow these instructions from Aditya Chopra and his legacy of super hit songs.

Taking the matter further, Salim says, “Composing the music of ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ was a huge opportunity. As a producer, we worked with Adi for ‘Chak De! India’ and ‘Aaja Nachle’ Had been there, but Adi was special as a director. We wanted to make this album the most memorable for myself and the audience, but above all, I wanted the music to be done well on the film. “

Talking about the biggest USP of a music album, Salim says, “The biggest USP of this music album was that they were all linked by the same thread, despite making the songs for different story situations. They took us to the same world and showed a full glimpse of the characters. The importance of the Golden Temple in the history and songs of the film gave the title song a devotion and immortality. “

Suleman explains, “I think the cutting-edge music production was the USP of the entire album, despite the simplicity and sound of the songs with tremendous traditional melodies. We sat down to produce good songs instead of hit songs and that’s it.”

This is how the lyrics of ‘Haule Haule came out’

The fact that few people know is that Aditya Chopra’s vocal tune of “Haule Haule Ho Gaye Pyaar” was evident. Suleman reveals, “The lyrics of this song actually originated from the scene which Adi had written and the last dialogue of that scene was- ‘Tani partner, Haule Haule Ho Jayega Pyaar.’ Adi used to hum these lyrics in a crude-sounding tune that we liked in that form as well. So we decided to develop it further with Jaideep (Sahni). We tried to keep the melody as simple as possible.”

Shah Rukh Khan is considered the king of romance and Salim believes that the superstar’s lip-syncing on the beautiful songs he created, made them even more special. Salim says that ‛SRK adds joy to every song. RNBJ was a milestone film for us as all the songs proved to be chartbusters and SRK had the biggest hand in it. He really wins every song on screen and makes them immortal. ‘
