The film needs no introduction as it happens to be the most awaited film in B Town. The makers had to wait for long as it was ready to release on June 20, however, the Pandemic led to the delay. Now, it is back on the screens. Let’s check the review of the same.
Plot
The film is a sports drama based on the victory of the Indian Cricket Team in the World Cup final in 1983 at Lords in the UK. Kabir Khan has showcased the pre and post events of the world cup that has remained the most awaited films in the B Town. Now, let’s check how things have gone.
Script Analysis
The script talks about the perfect showcase of how things move in the red tape along with the character and conduct of different players who were the part of this team. The makers have taken some liberty though for obvious reasons like adding some melodrama in it. However, the story remains the same and they have tried to make things so realistic only to make the audience realize what transpired that time should come perfectly on the screens.
Star Performances
The film is known for its ensemble star cast with so many actors in it as we have a complete team to showcase with 11 players on the field, a few off field like Pankaj Tripathi and so on. However, we will be talking about the leading stars starting with Ranveer Singh. Needless to say that Singh has outplayed the character of Kapil Dev. Right from replicating his mannerism and accent, he was also able to showcase every ball he faced or bowled in the World Cup finals. Deepika Padukone playing his reel wife too was awesome in her character. However, one man who scored points was Pankaj Tripathi playing the staunch manager PR Man Singh, seen with his mild Hyderabadi accent which was incredible on the screens. The others too were awesome in their performances.

No wonder how Kabir Khan is an awesome filmmaker, he left no stone unturned to keep things moving in the right direction. Kabir Khan helped you feel nostalgic for the victory by taking you to the memory lanes of 83 victory without actually feigning even the slightest of hits. The music was awesome and so was the screenplay, camera and photography.
83 – The Last Word
With all said and done, 83 is an awesome film that acts like an ode to this sport. Sooner or later, it will prove a changing episode of Indian Cricket history. All we could see was the perfect pitch partnerships with performance, tradition, superstition and many more.
